Overview

Rhode Island Energy is looking for an AMF Deployment Supervisor to join its Advanced Metering Functionality (AMF) team. The AMF Deployment Supervisor will oversee the end-to-end installation, maintenance, and repair of the AMF metering infrastructure systems throughout the deployment schedule. #RIE #LG&EKU

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight and safe deployment of AMF metering infrastructure in the Rhode Island Energy service territory.

  • Oversee meter deployment vendor to deliver safe and efficient equipment installation ensuring compliance with RIE safety compliance and safe work practices, field protocols, construction standards, and joint-ownership agreements.

  • Conduct field audits to ensure vendor is adhering to proper work methods and contract terms.

  • Provide direction for meter deployment team activities related to monitoring, investigating, and prioritizing events and alerts that assist the meter infrastructure provider in resolving customer escalations as required.

  • Ensure meter deployment team operates within prescribed guidelines to troubleshoot, diagnose problems, and assist with restoration of communication and wireless system services while conducting root-cause analysis for recurring issues.

  • Provide oversight for the coordination of meter installation work activities (standards, distribution/substation design and operations, third-party attachments, legal, environmental, etc.) to ensure all meter infrastructure is being deployed within appropriate design and safety standards.

  • Perform field audits on installed network assets to assure construction standards, safe work practices, and proper work methods are adhered to.

  • Work with Inventory Management to ensure the timely distribution of materials for the meter deployment and installation.

  • Serve as direct point of contact for the meter deployment vendor to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Track and report to AMF Meter Deployment Lead weekly data on filed deployment team safety.

  • Valid driver's license is require.

  • All other duties and projects as assigned by the AMF Meter Deployment Lead

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant* discipline and minimum of two years utility experience OR combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.

*Relevant disciplines may include engineering, science, business, or similar field.

Experience

  • Basic understanding of electric distribution systems.

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with multiple internal groups and vendors and effectively communicate resolution with key stakeholders.

  • Ability to interpret information and analyze relationships and dependencies among multiple parts of a problem or situation to clearly articulate findings that lead to resolution.

  • Ability to recommend appropriate changes, communications and training actions and provide broad support for a large, complex project.

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a collaborative environment which includes internal and external customers and utility contractors.

  • Ability to communicate complex information in simple, easy-to-understand ways.

  • Ability to produce quality deliverables and meet deadlines.

  • Promotes respect and can work effectively with diverse groups and environments.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working with complex meter infrastructure and customer billing integration.

  • Experience working with IT infrastructure and communication technologies and troubleshooting equipment.

  • Experience working electric distribution operations teams.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional resources and diverse groups of stakeholders.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed with attention to detail.

  • Presents creative approaches to problems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence strategic decision makers.

  • Ability to anticipate obstacles and issues, and proactively seek resolution and mitigation, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness beyond routine questioning.
