Staff Accountant

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares increasingly complex accounting analyses and journal entries.

  2. Prepares and analyzes financial statements and other internal/external financial reports.

  3. Assists in the tracking & reporting of internal controls over financial reporting, and recommends enhancements to such controls.

  4. Solves a range of increasingly complex accounting problems; analyzes possible solutions and makes

recommendations.

  1. Related to all of the above processes, expected to develop supporting work papers and documentation.

  2. Builds knowledge of the organization processes and customers and technical accounting.

Position Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible for increasingly complex accounting activities including analyzing accounting transactions and issues, preparing journal entries, maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and testing and monitoring internal controls over financial reporting. Works with regular guidance in own area of knowledge.

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications:

1.Bachelor's Degree in business discipline with at least 3 accounting courses OR Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with at least 1 year of accounting-related experience. 2.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; use of excel/word is required. .

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2 to 4 years of accounting-related experience in public accounting, SEC reporting, and a working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. 2. CPA or CMA certification or MBA. 3. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
